Many people that get started in the industry of network marketing quit very early on because they get frustrated very easily. Network marketing is a business and like any business it takes time, hard work, some skill, (which can be learned) and patience.
So, what is the right business opportunity for you?
That is the most important question. It has to be a good fit for you. If you don't care much about selling books, don't join a book selling business. If you don't like selling flowers, don't sign up into a flower business. Find a business that has something you love to either do or sell. This is a selling business and you have to like what you are doing or you will not put your heart and soul in to it to make it work.
It is important that you are patient with your goals and give yourself a chance to have a successful business. Finding what you love and getting it set up and marketing it is important. These all take time. Prospecting isalso an important part of having a successful network marketing business.
You may already know this, but you must realize that there are many differences that exist between targeted prospecting and prospecting. I myself worked very hard for 4 years trying to develop my own network marketing business. I began searching for other ways. The reasons Iworked for 4 years with not much to show for it,was, not because I did not work hard. It had more to do with my prospecting methods. I was only using one method. There are more.
Who Should You Be Approaching
You must realize that prospecting your "warm market" is great, but you can’t waste your time approaching people that have no interest in what you have to offer them. Before you go after a prospect you must diagnose the potential that this prospect has to join your business. If the prospect has a low potential then you should save your time and move onto the next prospect.
It is significantly easier to convert prospects that are actively looking to join your business. The old tactics of network marketing had you making lists of everyone you know on the face of the earth. This is not targeted prospecting. This is hopful prospecting.
This method no longer works as well. Now we can take advantage of technology to make network marketing significantly easier. The internet is a tool that can be used to promote your services and market yourself as a serious business opportunity for prospects.
The majority of people are looking for quality home based business opportunities. Your goal must be to find these people and attract them to your business. Then you can slowly begin telling them what your business has to offer and begin building a quality relationship with them.
The products that you have to offer are less important than the personality that you have towards a prospect in the long run. In the business of network marketing the fact remains that people do not join your business, they join you.
